Communication and Preparation

 • Direct Contact:

A close dialogue with your photographer is essential. Discuss your vision, including:

 • Preferred poses and styles

 • Your likes and dislikes

 • Any particular features you want to emphasize or downplay

 • Personal Reflection:

Talk about your “work side”—what you love about yourself and what you’d prefer to adjust. This helps the photographer guide you in capturing your best angles and expressions.

Session Formats

 • Express Session (30 minutes):

Best for quick, straightforward, and posed shots such as business portraits or content-specific images. (Note: For a lifestyle session, an express format is usually not recommended.)

 • Typically, you can incorporate one or at most two looks.

 • One-Hour Session:

Start with approximately 15 minutes of guided posing to help you settle in, followed by a transition into a more relaxed, lifestyle shoot. This duration usually accommodates two looks, with the possibility of adding a third if time and comfort allow.

 • Two-Hour Session (or more):

Ideal for studio shoots where you may be changing looks with the help of a stylist, makeup artist, or hair specialist. This format also works well if you’re shooting in multiple locations (such as at home and in a garden), allowing ample time for a relaxed, thorough session.

Final Thoughts

Discuss all details with your photographer to ensure that every aspect—from location and outfit changes to lighting and mood—is planned to your liking. A well-prepared individual session will yield photographs that authentically reflect your personality and style.
